Looks like we’re getting a hurricane. I should have kicked Moe when he started doing his Hurricane Dance. My plan is to spend tonight battening down the hatches. I’m going to clean up everything in the yard that has the potential to blow around since as it currently stands, we’re forecast to be right on the edge between hurricane force (70+) and tropical storm force winds. I’m going to bring in all the furniture we have on the porch, get the kayaks locked away and even bring the garbage cans and stuff under the porch at least, so they aren’t exposed ...

It looks like Earl is tracking further east and weakening faster then they expected.  Hopefully that means nothing more than a slightly windy night with some rain for us. Moe and I took everything in last night that could blow around, so that is all set.  Now we just wait and see I guess if we get any damage.  I'd imagine that even with some mildly strong winds, we could have a bunch of trees down, they seem to fall down around here for no reason. ...
