ALLOW ME to take the time to get my stories up to date. So much has been happening over the past few months, I feel rather guilty that all I've mentioned on this blog since November last year has been my engagement and its subsequent party! In reality, the past two months have been a complete roller-coaster. Allow me to explain.Well, first up has been the career "re-alignment". I must be careful at this point not to break one my my golden rules of blogging i.e. don't blog about work. At least nothing that could be found by a current ...
Urgh... hot again... followed by thunder and humidity later in the week...Unconscious Mutterings...
It was an eventful weekend. In fact, it was one of those weekends that makes going back to work tomorrow very difficult.Friday nightThings have died down somewhat between Sam and me. We are not back to normal yet but we are taking it easy. One day at a time. There are still occasional toe stepping moments, mostly him stepping on mine (now that I have adopted a "no tolerance policy"), but we are trying.Movie night had resumed in the evening. Okay, it wasn't the same without Joel and Iain but at least Ryan and Jakey came, so did Sammy, ...
A pent-up, time-stealing, overheated, Dollhouse-watching, software-related, totally wasted kinda day...You Are a ThunderstormYou are a bit temperamental and unpredictable. You have a lot of pent up energy. You don't strike often, but when you do it can be deadly. You can be extremely destructive.People find you to be amazing and awesome. You can be a bit scary at times, but that just adds to your appeal. You tend to get other people excited whenever you're riled up. You aren't usually the only storm in town. What Kind of Storm Are You?Current Mood: ...
Even after all this time, I don't really get how we can do what feels like not very much at all, but it can still take up the whole day...Proof that time really does fly when you're having fun (or driving to places and wandering around) I guess.Today started out with a trip to Mr Mechanic Man... which all went off without a hitch... then did the Supermarket Safari, came back here, unpacked and were in the city by 10am...Mostly we went to look at the discounted Christmas paper/cards they had marked down, and a disturbingly large amount of ...
You know, just when you think that you have now grown up and no longer feel like the rejected teenager that you were at school, that you are now secure in who you are in life, nothing shatters that illusion faster than stalking high school people on Facebook. To be fair, I didn't go looking for them. I happened to stumble across a friend of a friend - next thing you know, I was confronted with name after name of a whole bunch of high school people I would rather forget. As if it was some collective effort, a lot ...
A little Benzo, Store and (I think) Fred Rock artwork for a Friday evening... snapped last year on my way to the pub...Well, the homosexualists are invading... including fellow bloggers Brenton and Shannon (both of whom should be within proverbial spitting distance by now)... all bound for the NaviGAYtion thing this weekend. It's kinda weird actually... not the cruise, just the fact that people I "know" are working on it.Anyway...I know I'm not alone in this, but when somebody retweets something I've said on Twitter I'm probably more pleased than I should be... and today when ...
What with all the Dollhouse episodes I've been watching of late, it seemed appropriate to have a Dollhouse related Random Hotness.Sadly the list of eligible male cast members is fairly short, but Enver Gjokaj, who plays Victor (one of the Dolls), is a clear winner. While we don't get to see him in as many different personas as some of the women, but there's a charm and a sweetness about Victor that makes me just want to go "awwwwww"... Current Mood: ...
"SO HOW are you, apart from blissfully happy?"This was the question Adam got asked many times last week at our engagement party. You can imagine why - he's got a house, fur children and bf, and now he's at a big party that's all about him, he's showing off his shiny ring and the booze is free-flowing. What more for a boy to love?**sigh**I am never getting engaged again. Once is plenty enough for me! For some reason, I decided that a spit roast would be a great addition to a party - after all I do love my BBQ's and ...
Wet and dry... or rather, dry and wet... but it doesn't have the same ring to it.For the most part, I've got nothing. Not a damn thing...But bubbling up under the surface is a something... I'm having one of those "I want..." moods... only I can't define what the hell the want is.It's not getting laid... I've been laid in various iterations three times in the last week and a half...Maybe it's sleep... in the last 24 hours I've had 10 hours sleep instead of 14 or 16 or whatever I would normally have... and it's making ...
The weekend was quiet again. Yes, there is still a bit of a cold war over here. It's not him. It's me. I don't usually hold onto things for this long but I guess I'm just at my wit's end and am feeling a bit lost. My emotions are going the proverbial "all over the shop" at the moment, so I'm just trying to play it cool.We didn't end up seeing a movie on Friday night again. Yes, we are starting to develop a bad habit of just staying at home, as soon as the boys had moved down to ...
It's been a very trying day... mostly because I've been unable to concentrate on anything properly...On the up side, I found a note in my letterbox telling me that a parcel was waiting for me at the Post Office... which was handy because I also needed to send a parcel.I love parcels...Oh, and I increased my Fringe Show ticket count by one... young Master Josh Thomas...Unconscious Mutterings 366...
My mother is a psychopath...Or sociopath... or whatever we're calling it these days. She has had way too much fun (way more than $6 worth in fact) with the Target teddies we bought yesterday...At random times over the past two days I've gotten random picture messages from her which display something of a serial killer vibe towards the teddies...The comments in italics are the messages she sent me along with the photos...It all started so well...All safely buckled up for the ride home..."When she said did I want to come home with her, she never mentioned the ironing!" ...
It's been a funny old day...Everything started off reasonably normally, except for the fact that Ma and I took separate cars down for the second week in a row (and next week will make three weeks in a row), since she was headed straight off from the supermarket to go and get her hair did. That and the fact that I forgot my wallet and my belt and my car stereo fascia first thing this morning... I was doing real well there...And I think I've mentioned before that I don't like Stocktaking Days at the supermarket... it's that combination ...
Something snapped just off Rundle Street on the way to breakfast on Australia Day... and yes, that sausage is exactly what you think it is... although I didn't notice it until I looked at the pic later. And it's actually a fitting symbol for today...I had a highly unexpected encounter at lunch... unexpected not only because of the swiftness of it, but the fact that the other party would normally be way out of my league. And while it didn't have the outcome I would have liked, it was still a pleasant, if strange, way to spend half of ...
