Speaking to CBS News about the expected heightened turnout of African-American voters in California and the anti-gay benefit she sees in the same, Protect Marriage's Sonja Eddings Brown (the same spokesperson who seems to think Gavin Newsom spells his name with an 'e') has offered up the following thoughts:
"We thank Barack Obama, even though he's not supporting it, for helping us," ..."We think it's going to push us over the top"
An annoying, even slightly offensive comment to which we reply:
"Wishing to rob gay people of their freedom? Trying to exalt religious belief above constitutional freedom? Denying the independent ...
Gays, we have some potentially good news and some potentially bad news.
The good news: We might have found a way for you to cut excess calories out of your diet.
The bad news: The method might involve a principled boycott of one of this nation's most prominent ice cream chains
That's because a reader of the Joe.My.God site has revealed that Donald and Susan Sutherland, the founders of Scottsdale-based Cold Stone Creamery, have donated $10,000 to Arizona's anti-gay marriage Proposition 102:
Cold Stone Creamery Founders Donate Against Gay Marriage in Arizona [JMG]
Now, we say POTENTIALLY when referring to any ...
The anti-gay side has launched yet another pro-Prop 8 site. We, however, couldn't get past the opening graphic:
So why did this pic make us take pause? Well, because where it could just be a simple image showing a round of that oddly-accepted parental game known as "here, let me throw and risk dropping you for a fleeting moment of generic fun," we think our opposition could instead be trying to convey other, more fear-mongery points. We have some ideas about what those could be:
- They're depicting the day after Prop 8 fails, when the magnetic pull of an ...
Hillary C. spoke out against a potential McCain-Palin administration. Suze O. proved that there are still a few financially-minded people deserving of honor. And Jennifer Holliday brought "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" to gay ears for approximately the 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 998th time.
Another year, another Human Rights Campaign national dinner:

So we don't want to go through a lengthy rehash of the following facts, since we already did that earlier this week. But basically, here's a timeline:
-A few weeks back, we found "ex-gay" Greg Quinlan to be misrepresenting a quote from a noted geneticist in a way that made it sound as if homosexuality is, definitively, "not hardwired"
-We emailed Quinlan, presenting him with an actual quote that geneticist, Dr. Francis Collins, had once given the Ex Gay Watch (XGW) site. A quote that completely belies Quinlan's own supposed quote.
-Quinlan responded to us by ...
We've sensed a growing frustration with some pro-gay Arizonans regarding the way their proposed marriage ban is getting lost in the mix. And their frustrations are not misplaced, since it's true that California, with its currently legal status, and Florida, with its role as a prominent swing state, have gotten more attention. FL and especially CA have been the "sexier" fights in this election season.
So what can we do about that? Well, for starters, we're gonna drink some Arizona tea and go to buy some Arizona jeans at J.C. Penney's we want to direct you over to Box Turtle ...
Maybe it was Rosh Hashanah or maybe it was something else, but for some reason we completely missed the news this week that the band Fall Out Boy has given $50k to fight the cruel, discriminatory, intellectually bankrupt, un-American measure known as Proposition 8:
Fall Out Boy gives $50,000! [CA Ripple Effect]
So you heard 'em, kids -- When it's fall out, boy is it a good time of the year to go to the polls and reject anti-gay measures! And if you don't, Pete Wentz is gonna make you watch his wife's cringe-worthy "SNL" screwup on ...
This from the AP:
DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Supreme Court says it will hear arguments in a case challenging the state's law banning gay marriage.
The court on Friday announced it will hear oral arguments in the case on Dec. 9. Both sides will be given 30 minutes to present their arguments.

So you know what that means, social conservatives: Only 67 shopping-for-just-the-right-ways-to-mask-unconstituional-discrimination-behind-a-veil-of-child-and-family-protection days until your holiday court date!
Sheesh, time flies, doesn't it? In no way does it seem like a full year has passed since those folkss last ...
On Thanksgiving morning, we all wake up to the inflated floats of the Macy's parade. Now on Thanksgiving Eve, we can all wind down with someone who conservatives have long decried as being filled with hot air. That's because NBC has just announced that on November 26, the will air a primetime variety special featuring our favorite outspoken liberal celesbian blogger, Rosie O'Donnell:
Rosie O'Donnell Returns to NBC with "Rosie's Variety Show" [AfterEllen]
"Rosie's Variety Show" will reportedly feature celebrities, comedy skits, prize giveaways, and musical acts. It will not have Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

A few weeks back, we gave you some insight into iProtectMarriage, a site that attempts to convince California's young people that same-sex unions are of the Devil, and so they should therefore reject them by voting for Proposition 8. Well last night the site sponsored a simulcast rife with Christian rock, propaganda, and nasty anti-gay sentiment hidden behind a veil of false compassion. You can listen to the whole event here:

Speaking about the myriad of companies that have rightfully come out against the cruel, discriminatory, intellectually bankrupt, un-American measure known as Proposition 8, California anti-gay activist Randy Thomasson has the following advice for his fellow biased peeps:
"Boycott and remove themselves as customers from Levi's, from Pacific Gas & Electric if possible, from AT&T which is surely possible," ..."I don't even want to see Steven Spielberg movies anymore because that man donated $100,000 for defeat of marriage between a man and a woman."
