Yesterday the Associate Press reported on a religious speech Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin gave to the Wasilla Assembly of God in June, not as a parishioner but as the the Governor of Alaska.
In some of her most disturbing comments, in the capacity as a government official and talking about state business, Palin urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it “God’s will.”
Other quotes taken from video of Palin’s sermon (below) the Associated Press reported are rather disturbing, not because Palin’s faith, but because ...
The Republican machine and its friends in the national media had a field day over the words of Rev. Jeremiah Wright. The 24-hour news cycle blasted Sen. Barrack Obama for attending Rev. Wright’s church, but will this same media look into the insults coming from the pulpit of the church Gov. Sarah Palin attends?
The speaker at Palin’s church was David Brickner, the executive director of Jews for Jesus. Palin was sitting in the church at the time Brickner was speaking on an issue that many faithful Jews find repugnant.
Brickner talked about Jesus and his disciples were themselves Jewish and then ...
The noise machine that is Rudy Giuliani fed the Republicans the kind of pabulum comfort food that makes them feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Giuliani fed the GOP faithful the kind of trash talk that sums of the very core of what makes up the essence of the Republican Party.
Giuliani offered demonstrated that the Republicans have no new ideas, no solutions to getting America out of the disaster created by their chosen one, President George W. Bush.
Instead of ideas, solutions, and answers to solve the disasters created by the very party that hoisted George W. Bush up on their ...
The Republican Mormon white guy Mitt Romney told NBC reporter Andrea Mitchell tonight that he thinks Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama is “well-spoken.”
Mitchell was talking with Romney moments after he delivered a speech at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis.
Republicans use the phrase “well-spoken” when describing African Americans who don’t fall into the politically incorrect definition of ‘negro.’
Keep in mind that it was Romney who stood among a small group of black folks for a fast photo-op and uttered the uncomfortable phrase, “who let the dogs out… who who” in classic uncomfortable white guy fashion.
In usual GOP ...
KTVB-Channel 7 (Boise NBC affiliate) let its conservative roots show tonight in the coverage given to the teen pregnancy controversy hovering around Republican vice presidential candidate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
The 6 pm broadcast featured a story by reporter Ysabel Bilbao who teased earlier that she spoke to people “on both sides of the isle,” indicating she had a balanced story. Well, guess what? It was clearly tilted to the right and not centered or balanced.
KTVB reporter Ysabel Bilbao offered a conservatively-leaning report on the controversy on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s unmarried pregnant daughter.
Bilbao’s piece was teased by anchor Dee Sarton during the ...
Minneapolis police brutalize the First Amendment in their ongoing assault against journalists and protesters near the Republican National Convention.
One of the most outrageous assaults on freedom of the press was video tapped as police arrested DemocracyNow host Amy Goodman and two members of her staff, charging her with obstruction.
DemocracyNow producers Sharif Abdel Kouddous and Nicole Salazar were also swept up in the illegal assault on free speech and slapped with felony riot charges.
Amy Goodman respectfully tries to talk with police about her crew’s first amendment rights, freedom of the press and her colleagues unlawful arrest.
Goodman is a well-respected journalist ...
Ten reasons why John McCain should’ve nominated afellowamerican instead of Sarah Palin, for the Vice Presidential nominee on the Republican ticket. Hilarious and creepy all at the same time.

On this Date in 2007, The Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call reported that Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, was arrested June 11 by a plainclothes officer investigating complaints of lewd conduct in a Minneapolis airport restroom.
This public disclosure made it safe for The Idaho Statesman to blow the dust off Dan Popkey’s “special report” about Craig’s encounters.
PrideDEPOT.com followed the slow action in a special report prior to The Statesman’s safe expose.

Sen. John McCain thinks it’s funny to crack jokes about his old age, but it is no laughing matter. The Republican presidential candidate is at the stage in life when his age is a serious matter and should be publicly discussed in total candor.
Republicans have mastered the skill to divert attention away from themselves when legitimate issues threaten their goal of winning an election, and the McCain Campaign is another classic example of how well they play political dodge ball.
McCain is 72 years old. His age, physical condition, and mental abilities are nothing to laugh at when we are faced ...

An Idaho anti-gay propagandist is crowing success on his non-profit political website about how his intervention with a local Hallmark card shop owner lead to a decision not to sell same-sex greeting cards.
The head of the so-called Idaho Values Alliance was apparently set to call for a boycott of the seven Jordan Hallmark stores owned by Philip R. Johnson, until the man disclosed that he had no intention of selling the cards. However, he said he would special order them upon request.
Johnson said his business decision was based on controversial news coverage and the ...
