Sydney’s Pomomofo is set to release their EP In Super VGA — the first single being “Island” with a remix be Toxic Avenger and video by Beaufort. This remix is pretty typical Toxxie… like makes you feel like your eardrums are being rubbed together. Typical in this case is good:

Some exciting Little Boots news!! She’ll be releasing her first American EP called Arecibo on IAMSOUND in November! To hype it up Ms Boots dropped a new mixtape on the Internet:

Little Boots also put up a cover of Alphabeat’s “Boyfriend” on her popular YouTube channel (make sure you subscribe). That’s her little bro on the drums. For real. Like the Partridge family or something.

Point your attention to NightWaves, part of the LA collective that is calling themselves Binary. They’re promising to bring “the romance back to LA. A little bit less banger, a bit more 80’s, and a lot of great synth work.” Sounds good to me. There is a Valerie-ish aspect to their music that they’re interestingly calling “Dreamwave.” Dreamwave is the best nu-fake genre name I’ve heard in quite a while.

The Twelves are back with a new mixtape — including some of their new official remixes for Zeigeist and The Virgins. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve headed over to The Twelves’ MySpace to listen to their remix of “Humanitarianism.” Like at least a million. The mix also includes some of their home brews for Radiohead, Lykke Li and Fleet Foxes. Based on their previous Thirty Minutes of the Twelves mixtape, we can assume without listening that this one is nop totch. Yep, it is:

Kinda in love with SMALL. “Comic Girl” kinda reaches the same pop great heights as perhaps Van She’s “Kelly”… like you wanna put this on, open all your windows and scream along. Shitty bit rate but it gives you a decent idea of the epic potentials of this song:

“I Wanna Dance With Somebody” always makes me wanna get super gay and take off my shirt and dance with my hands in the air. It’s a weakness. OCD Automatic exploits this weakness. When I hear this played out I’m gonna embarrass myself sober.

Naughty Nites is three bad ass guys from Denmark who are also members of bands Kiss Kiss Kiss and I Am Elektronik. The vocals on these two tracks are a bit of a distraction from the instrumental… the beginning of “Bad Boy” is kinda solid but there’s an awkwardness with the rest that doesn’t totally do it. Maybe with a guitar base it’d work better but the current juxtaposition leaves a slight uncomfortable feeling. Though, maybe that’s the point.
Anyway.
There’s great potential here for something special:

WOW!! I’ve been totally in love with everything WOW has been doing ever since their first songs started popping up on their MySpace — “Icy Cold” is no exception. The track kinda feels like the middle ground between the Presets and Muscles… but infused with some much needed rock and roll that’s been missing in my diet.

I had to double check our archives twice cause I couldn’t believe we haven’t post Mixhell before. Obvs we’ve been being lazy… especially since the wunderduo has remixed all our favorites countless times. Brazil husband/wife team Iggor Cavalera/Laima Leyton are no strangers to the blogs or parties — here we have them remixed by two of my favorite Brazilians: Database and Bo$$ in Drama. Drums of Death is on just about everyone’s short list these days… starting with one of the most blogged remixes of the Summer with Tricky’s “Council Estate.” Well the man, with his own brand of genre splitting music, is gearing to release his ‘Drums of Death Steps into the Ring’ EP this September following up in early 09 with his full length. “Ozzzy” is worth a million dollars — the track starts out slow and then crushes itself into a bunch of ones and zeros. Like an mp3 in a digital storm:
