It looks like my old hometown is in the news again, this time with a gay twist. A soldier, Christopher Whitfield, stationed in Ft. Benning (near Columbus Ga.) is being charged with sexual assault. Isn’t it amazing what the closet will make a person do?
This isn’t justification for what he allegedly did, but I will be watching the Phenix City Police’s actions with this case. PC isn’t a gay friendly town at all and homophobia runs rampant. I trust the PCPD will act fairly for justice.
