TCR has compiled a list of position reversals for John McCain. The list is pretty impressive. 61 flip-flops and we are still counting!
From TCR:
National Security Policy
1. McCain thought Bush’s warrantless-wiretap program circumvented the law; now he believes the opposite.
2. McCain insisted that everyone, even “terrible killers,” “the worst kind of scum of humanity,” and detainees at Guantanamo Bay, “deserve to have some adjudication of their cases,” even if that means “releasing some of them.” McCain now believes the opposite.

I was recently sent an e-mail arguing for for drilling in ANWR. This e-mail dovetails very nicely into a recent Republican strategy which can be summed up in a phrase — drilling our way out of the oil crisis. For everyone over the age of 25, we’ve been here before. In late 1970s, as oil prices began to skyrocket, we had a debate in this country over oil and energy independence. I saw this piece yesterday and I just now have a chance to talk about it. Fox News has done some really bad reporting over the years. They have pushed stories that simply weren’t true. Now, a new low, they have Photoshopped photos to make 2 guys from the New York Times (reporter Jacques Steinberg and editor Steven Reddicliffe ) look uglier. How juvenile!!!

Before long Dolley was reporting to her best friend that “the great little Madison has asked…to see me this evening.”……Dolley’s social graces made her famous. Her political acumen, prized by her husband, is less renowned, though her gracious tact smoothed ...
