Gay Couple Attacked in Key West: ‘You Live in Trump Country Now’
Even though Key West is a longstanding gay mecca of America, a gay couple was just attacked there by a man shouting slurs and his support for Donald Trump.
“I bet you faggots voted for that bitch Hillary,” the suspect said to the couple. “Well, you live in Trump country now.”
Miami Herald reports:
Kevin Seymour, 38, and Kevin Paul Taylor, 49, said it was a drunken tourist who followed them as they rode south on Duval Street “calling us faggots and a slew of other anti-gay remarks,” according ...
6 Reasons Why Turkish Oil Wrestling Absolutely Needs to Become America’s National Sport (Photos)
Turkish oil wrestling is Turkey’s national sport, but it absolutely should be America’s as well.
The sport is exactly what you’d expect: a bunch of muscular shirtless men rub oil on themselves and wrestle and it is the greatest thing on earth.
America absolutely should adopt this sport. Here are some reasons why.
1. We have tons of oil, thanks to corn subsidies
(via Cemil Komurcu)
Thanks to government subsidies, America has an absurd amount of corn. Currently, we use it to make crappy biofuel (seriously ethanol sucks) and diabetes-inducing ...
Oscars 2017: Here Are the Night’s 11 Best Dressed Actors and Actresses
Oscars Fever officially begins with stars walking down the red carpet. It’s thrilling to see our favorite actors like Meryl Streep, Ryan Gosling and Viola Davis looking their best at the entertainment industry’s most anticipated event. The ladies dress to the nines in beautiful haute couture gowns and fancy jewelry, and the gentlemen glam up, too, showing us their dapper side via tuxes.
This year, stars also used the Oscars as a platform to convey important messages, like supporting the nonprofit American Civil Liberties Union as a way to defy the ...
Oscars 2017: Relive Moonlight’s Win in the Craziest Awards Show Moment Ever (Video)
Despite Jimmy Kimmel’s best efforts, the 2017 Academy Awards were shaping up to be pretty damn boring — that is, until the night’s very last award, when for the very first time in recent Oscars memory, the wrong film was called as the night’s Best Picture. As it turns out, Moonlight — the year’s critics darling and the only Best Picture film with LGBT subject matter — is this year’s top film.
Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway — the two stars of Bonnie and Clyde who have remained outside the ...

This is exciting! Mahershala Ali just won an Oscar for his role in Moonlight. This is his first nomination and win.

We loved Ali in the film, and are so happy he is walking away a winner. This is isn’t his first award for the role this award’s season. Those prizes he claimed include a SAG Award and National Society of Film Critics Award.

Wendy Ho’s New Song Has Us Reaching for a Selfie Stick (Video)
Is the selfie stick the greatest tool of our generation? If you ask Wendy Ho — best known for her filthy mouth and NSFW song parodies — it definitely ranks up there. So much so that she’s dedicated her latest song, a parody of Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home” called “Selfie Stick,” to the contraption.
Sure, many people consider selfies to be the downfall of modern civilization — a citizenry more concerned with duck lips than current events can’t be good, and some studies even link selfie-obsession to ...
Was James Buchanan Our First Gay President, and Have There Been More?
It was around the time Barack Obama was running for re-election that Newsweek ran a cover declaring him “The First Gay President.” At the time, they were referring to his many actions to secure equal rights for LGBTs, from supporting marriage equality to establishing a national AIDS strategy. It’s a cute little joke, and a callback to when Bill Clinton was dubbed the country’s first black president.
But wait, have we really never had a gay president before? We know there haven’t been any openly gay presidents, but evidence suggests that various ...
Republicans Torment Queer People with States’ Rights Hypocrisy
If there’s one shtick Republicans consistently count on, it’s crowing about protecting individuals from “big government.” But with the unpredictable and unprincipled Donald Trump administration now in power, the party’s dedication to dismantling governmental authority is being put to the test with an unlikely conflict — and now the GOP is going to have to decide which they dislike more, the government or queer people.
When the government protects LGBTs, Republicans can be counted on to oppose any federal initiative that requires due process and equal rights, even when that initiative is the U.S. Constitution itself. But when ...
Man with Nice Butt Rescues a Dog Stuck in a Frozen Pond (Video)
We interrupt your daily schedule of weekend chores, hangover cures and avoiding political news with this video of a man with a nice butt saving a dog from a frozen pond.
The dog, Copper, found itself submerged in cold waters after wandering onto a icy pond. The man bravely stripped down to his underwear and proceeded to crawl towards Copper, distributing his body weight across the pond’s surface to keep the ice from breaking.
The rescue doesn’t go entirely as planned, as you’ll see, but the first part provides ...
Trans Comic Artist Julia Kaye Has a Message: ‘You Are Not Alone’
The Up and Out comic by Julia Kaye offers an intimate look into the life of a woman undergoing gender transition. It’s autobiographical, revealing and deeply honest.
Kaye was kind enough to answer our questions about her work and her life.
Why did you call your comic Up and Out?
Before starting the comic, I was working at a real estate company as a graphic designer and saw drawing comics as my ticket up and out of there. It seemed fitting!
In the beginning, your comic was really different and ...
London’s ‘Meat’ Took Over The Glory, and We Have Pics of the Sexy Partiers
Last weekend, London’s ‘meat’ party took over the hub of East London’s gay scene, The Glory.
Here we speak to the party’s promoter, also the editor of meat magazine, Adrian Lourie:
Unicorn Booty: So tell us about the meat party!Adrian Lourie: The meat party is a monthly night that switches between three venues in East and South London: Dalston Superstore, The Glory and Royal Vauxhall Tavern.
We’re the only party in town doing that, and our crowd is the most diverse, wicked and fabulous on the London gay scene! This is ...
Karl Lagerfeld Just Called Your Favorite Actress ‘Cheap’ for Not Wearing Chanel to the Oscars
Slow your roll, Karl Lagerfeld! The creative director of Chanel recently came for one of our (and your) favorite actresses, accusing her of being “cheap” after she decided not to wear Chanel on the Oscars red carpet.
Which actress was it? None other than Meryl Freaking Streep! How dare you, Karl!
Lagerfeld told Women’s Wear Daily that Chanel was supposed to dress Streep for the red carpet—even going so far as to begin designing and putting together the dress—but a representative for La Streep halted the ...
