Are YOU ready? It's becoming clear that the sunny and warm days of a new season await Seattle and nothing ushers in the arrival of Spring quite like DJ Brian Gorr's Equinox Party, coming to Baltic Room this Saturday March 20, 2010.Arguably, local DJ Brian Gorr puts on some of the best gay dance events in the city. His Rewind Party in December was, oh, so over the top fun that ANYONE that was there would tell you it was probably the most fun that they had all year. But with that Rewind party Brian Gorr had all the ...
Rapid City, SD and Ellsworth AFB Staff Sgt. Jene Newsome followed the bizarre rules of the military’s ‘don’t ask, don’t tell, don’t pursue’ policy during her nine-year career with the Air Force. She didn’t tell anyone that mattered in the military that she is lesbian. The Air Force didn’t ask. But the service did pursue an investigation of Newsome after Rapid City, SD police officers sent a report to officials at Ellsworth Air Force Base, where Newsome was based. In the report, the officers revealed that they’d discovered in Newsome’s home an Iowa marriage license showing that she was ...
The 8th Annual Emerald City Comicon opens its doors tomorrow morning at 10am at the Washington State Convention Center, which means thousands of comic book/sci-fi/fantasy/horror fans will be taking to the streets of downtown Seattle for the weekend, either dressed in the sweats/ballcap/iconic character t-shirt combo OR poured into some sort of spandexy, pleathery, feathery, codpiecey type of outfit. You have been warned...If I was going to be town, I would definitely be heading to this. I'd interview Eric Gray (from "Buck Rogers") and try to find out if she had a torrid affair with Gil Gerard on ...
They might have cured AIDS this week — no one would have known, however, because THE ENTIRE WORLD IS FLIPPING OUT OVER THIS VIDEO:
And rightfully so. It’s pretty much everything you can expect from two weird-ass super divas such as these. I was, at first, a little put off, but then I realized I would have been disappointed if they had done anything less crazy.
And c’mon…the fucking Pussy Wagon is in it. You simple can not beat that.
ALSO. I will be at Emerald City Comicon TOMORROW, Saturday the 13th, hanging out with the awesome guys at the ...

Seattle is a city of film festivals...the big daddy of SIFF, the LGBT festival in October and dozens of festivals focusing on films from specific regions and ethnic groups. The festival continues through March 21st at various venues including SIFF Cinema, Cinerama, the Washington State History Museum in Tacoma and the Stroum ...
It's been rumored for weeks that Conan O'Brien, legally prohibited from working on television for six months following the demise of his stint as host of NBC's "The Tonight Show", would take to the stage for a nationwide tour that would essentially replicate his talk show in a theatrical format. Those rumors came to fruition today with the announcement that Ticketmaster would start selling tickets for his 30 city tour starting at 7am TODAY. Two shows are set for Seattle, April 18th and 19th with tickets ranging from $37.50 to $77.50. I'm guessing this is going to sell out, ...

In a message to students announcing the cancellation, the school board suggested that a private group should host an independent prom instead, Jacksonville Clarion Ledger reports. “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this causes anyone,” the message concluded. The Balagan Theatre has been on a roll this season with its ambitious mix of contemporary and classical works in a massive ten show season. They scored big with last month's production of "Trout Stanley" which earned rave reviews from everyone in town (including me) and here's hoping the trend continues with tomorrow night's opening of their new production, Rolin Jones "The Jammer" a 1950's set comedy set in the world of roller derby. The play itself has earned good reviews since its premiere at the 2004 Edinburgh Fringe Festival but it will be interesting to see if ...
