Yes, much like many other SNL alumni movies, Baby Mama is an extended SNL skit.
But without the excruciatingly boring “0ne note character” you get sick of 15 minutes into it. Except for Steve Martin, who you will strain something hoping that he says something differently funny to resuscitate his career.
Oh and Baby Mama is written with smart jokes that don’t pander to lame physical comedy shots (one poop joke, one fake barf joke, but both done with motherly nods to children expulsions).
Oh and it has a “good” (not great) story structure. Kind of pat ending, but ...
