The Department of Defense rejected a proposed policy by the DoDEA (Department of Defense Education Activity) giving teachers in a same-sex relationship the same consideration as married heterosexual teaching couples when transferring overseas. The policy was rejected because it conflicts with DOMA (The Defense of Marriage Act).
