I received news today of the death of Daniel Webster, 31, of Madison. Daniel had just begun work on his doctorate this year. Daniel died Wednesday at University Hospital and he will be laid to rest tomorrow in his home town of Gilman. Daniel and I served on the executive committee of the LGBT Caucus of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin during the last year. As we prepare to head off to sunnier climbs I am reminded about an image people from my neck of the woods have. It's an image that people from Plymouth (and or Devon I am not clear how far this thought extends), don't travel too far. They don't drive too far and they certainly don't leave the country.It's a really old fashioned stereo type but nonetheless one I grew up with.
