† FROM DJ PAUL V.Last night here in LA, we got treated to a dazzling live performance by London's Little Boots, and we were all ready to dance! Aside from a seriously mind-blowing laser show, Miss Boots gave us everything we adore in cosmic, electro-pop: Gorgeous voice, big beats, bigger melodies, and sing-along choruses. Not to mention an epic, piano/voice version of Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill as an encore, that had us mesmerized! Why Little Boots is not up there on the pop charts with tarts like Ke$ha is a crime. ...

Our reactionary, know-the-price-of-everything-and-the-value-of-nothing-Government has non-commercial, publicly owned service in its sights for destruction. Having a Minister in overall charge who made his loot in commercial radio, it's not surprising he's puppeteering the Broadcasting Minister (a medical doctor, go figure) to redirect the large market share public radio enjoys (no wonder given the aural crap on our airwaves) to his commercial mates.A Facebook campaign has been set up to counteract these retrograde moves, so unfortunately you need to be a member to join the campaign. Which I did temporarily until it is has been saved. ...

It's not because I don't like either, it's because many of them don't offer much artistry or push the mashup genre to another level. It doesn't mean they're bad, but I want y'all to hear the mashes that I think offer something a little bit extra. Now having said all that, this week's mashup features Yung Joc's It's Goin' Down rap set to Fireflies, the twee and sparkly breakout smash by ...
