First, the council certified the results of the November 3 election. 1,349 people voted by mail, 786 at the polling places (2,135 total). There are 7,478 registered voters.
Then Yvonne Parks, Scott Matas and Jan Pye came forward with friends and family to be sworn in.

My winners: Yvonne Parks, Scott Matas, and Jan Pye on the city council. Jeff Bowman has been elected to the water district board. There was a little discussion at the victory party about whether this might be the first time in DHS history that the voters had elected a good city council twice consecutively. If it had happened before, no one could recall.
Dick Cromwell was not elected and Nancy Wright remains on the water district board.
