SACRAMENTO: California voters appear ready to reject a measure on the November ballot that would ban same-sex marriages, even though they remain evenly divided about gay unions, according to a new poll. A majority of likely voters, 54 percent, oppose a measure that would amend the state constitution to prohibit same-sex marriage, according to the Public Policy Institute of California survey released Wednesday.
