Defying Despondency is not a serious blog, but it can be (at times). It’s not a gay-centric, or a political blog (although, some may disagree). It’s a place where Steve tries not to share detailed information about himself, others, or his career. So, in that sense, it’s not really a personal blog; per se. This site is mainly Steve’s goofy, 39 year-old, observations (written in a loose, grammatical format). The theme is usually short entries and relevant pictures (with an emphasis placed on a symmetrical layout). Topics vary around subjects which appeal to him (such as architecture, Baltimore, family, friends, gay stuff, humor, hot guys, lyrics, music, surveys, and YouTube). Steve enjoys responding directly (in comments) to his readers. He believes that it gives his blog a chatroom feel (and he likes that; except when the banter steers too far from the current topic). [
