It is foggy and raining here in the ATL…definitely *not* lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you…or anyone else. Where is it written that the Christmas music in stores has to start at the beginning of freaking November? I haven’t even made it through Thanksgiving yet. Poor Thanksgiving…it’s become a mere footnote in the saga of holidays, forevermore destined to be sandwiched between the recognition of last year’s Christmas and this year’s. Hell, Valentine’s Day gets more recognition than Thanksgiving, and it’s not even a real holiday!

So, it’s over. We have a black president, the first in history. It’s weird; I thought I would be totally indifferent to the fact. After all, I’ve worked so hard for quite a while to dissociate myself from black people at large, that I thought this event would have little effect on me, other than causing some consternation at a Dem in the White House.
Should I find it odd that it took something like a black man being elected to the highest office in the land to make me start thinking that maybe all black men aren’t a) thugs, b) ...
